Since Winning Moves bought the brand in 1999, we have sold over 80 million packs! Broad appeal - from James Bond to Baby Animals, Predators to Disney, The Hobbit to World Football Stars, Top Gear to Bugs and, Horrible Histories to Barbie. We can create a pack of Top Trumps on almost any subject.

What is the Marketing Objective?

Engage consumers and drive customer loyalty with on-pack / shopper marketing opportunities. The Top Trumps game is highly engaging - just watch what happens when someone opens a pack. The trumps-style game play was originally created as an educational aid as it helps children improve their understanding of numeracy. As it educates children about the topic they are playing, and in the process, developing a deeper level of engagement in the game. Previous advertisers have used Top Trumps to both engage consumers and to drive consumer loyalty. See attachment for details.

How does it work?

Winning Moves works with all the world's leading licensors across sports and entertainment. Winning Moves is perfectly placed to collaborate in this respect. The Top Trumps brand has also been adapted for digital, TV and publishing platforms. HTML5 multi-platform gaming brings the original Flash online game to new platforms with new features. Brands can also sync the online game to a Facebook competition mechanic to acquire a new world of consumers!

Who's used it in the past?

Shell - consumer loyalty programme: with every spend of £20 on Optimax premium fuel, consumers were rewarded with a sachet of five Top Trumps cards. McDonald's Happy Meals - gift with every purchase: pan-European promotion, 7 million packs produced in 9 weeks and used as Happy Meals gifts. Cheesestrings - in-pack collector promotion - In-pack Top Trumps cards each depicted Mr Strings in one of 30 countries. Eight of the cards featured an AR icon that, when scanned, took the viewer to an animated short of Mr Strings in that country.
